This a pencil sketch of Skye, but I also finished her "origin" story. Check it out:

Powers: Ability to control air/wind molecules, create “hard air” shapes, flight
Bio: Skye was born to a varied heritage. Her father Nazir Waters was the son of an African-American and a Spanish-Indian woman and her mother (Meyan Waters)was part Japanese and part Caucasian. Skye was born with a unique look which signified her powers that would later be manifested. When she was six years old, her father and mother divorced , mainly due to her father going off on a secret mission for the armed forces. Meyan then married another man named Jack Barrier who became Skye’s step father. He was abusive towards her mother physically and mentally. When she was 11 years old, the news was told to Skye and her mother that Skye’s father was seemingly killed in battle. When she turned 12 yrs old, her stepfather turned his abusive ways towards her and made several sexual advances on Skye. One night, when he tried to rape her, Skye’s powers manifested and she cut off the air supply and the oxygen to his brain which caused him to pass out, and Skye made her escape that night. Later that week, Meyan’s mother found out what happened, and finally made a stand against the man. He was arrested, but by this time, Skye had ran away from home. Meyan overdosed on pills and died.
Skye lived on the streets for almost a year and half, doing what she had to do to survive, as well as trying to control her newfound powers. She found a shelter for young runaways and they were able to arrange for her a foster home. Skye tried to stay in the foster home, but she was unhappy there as well, mostly due to some of the other kids there. Then, one week, a call came, it was Skye’s grandparents on her father’s side. They had been looking for her for a while. They came and got Skye and took her to their home in Heritage City. She then began a somewhat normal life, but often found herself trying to get rid of the pain through drinking and drugs. During this rebellious period, her grandparents, her uncle, and her aunt all tried helping her. Her Uncle Ricky, who was a producer noticed that Skye had a gift of music in rap and poetry. He helped her form a group called “Expressions” along with his son Rico and some other teens in the neighborhood. Through Expressions, Skye learned to release her pain through song and dance. She also met her best friend Nia Vazquez (Flow) who was a dancer for the group. Expressions became a popular group, lighting up all the radio stations on the East Coast. When invited to perform onboard a cruise ship for an ambassador and some other royal dignitaries kids, they leaped at the chance. This ship was attacked by terriorists who were trying to hijack the ambassador and others for the money, as well as make their political statement. On board the ship was the superhero group, The Urban Warriors. Skye joined in the battle that day against the terriorists, using her powers publicly for the first time. Her friend Nia, who exposed to an experimental gas that day was transformed as well gaining aquatic powers. Both Nia and Skye decided that they should join up with the Urban Warriors to protect Heritage City. They were warmly welcomed. Skye recently learned that her father who was thought to be dead may actually be alive, and being held as a POW, found a way to escape......

Personality:
Skye is very much into hip-hop, urban fashion,poetry, and filmaking and she is very street savvy having spent a lot of time growing up on the streets. She also has a very serious and solemn attitude sometimes. But she is learning to grow beyond the pain of her childhood. She has a sense of responsibility for those young people like herself who are abused and neglected. She spends a lot of her time down at the Heritage City Community Center, trying to teach the youth to avoid some of the mistakes she made. (And she’s only 19 ) She’s slow to trust people, but she’s extremely loyal to her friends.
