Description

This is my entry for Challenge 2 in CBRUNWAY. The challenge was to create a character that could fit into the 90's. You were supposed to base your character in a "Liefieldian" way. Named after Rob Liefield, the creator of Youngblood, and the mayb most infamous comic artist of all time. :D

2 young scientists from an alternate earth realized that their planet was doomed to destruction, they planned to send their son to our earth in order for him to grow up in a world that wouldn't fear and hate him for being born with a the metachromazone gene. They built a dimensional transporter, but an earthquake caused the transporter to misfire, and young Nathan Parker Clark was sent into the war torn future of that Earth raised by a group of metachromazone assassins and soldiers who were dedicated to keeping the earth safe from the vicious aliens, the Numbskrulls who were allies with some of the worst villians Earth had ever known, such as The Dominator, and Cataclysm.

Nathan was trained in the art of war, earning the nickname "Overkill" due to his excessive use of violence. Learning that his metacpower caused him to be able to teleport, Nathan learned that he could travel through time and eventually ended up in the correct timezone to prevent the alien invasion from ever occuring. He joined a group of young metachromas who called themselves the "C-Men"(due to the extra chromazone they carry of course) and were dedicated to fighting for a world that mocked and made fun of them.

They consisted of The General (the leader of the team with energy powers),Rockhard (the living stone), Rebelle (the beauty from the south with a sonic cry (The Rebel Yell), Bloodkill (the feral beast man with a healing factor), PSI-FIYA (the sexy tri-psion), and Repeat (the duplicating man).

Overkill joined this rag tag group of hereoes often butting heads with the General, but eventually becomes a vital part of this team, even after he has to betray them several times in order to prevent the dark and omnious future from ever occuring.

Inspiration: Can you guess? lol. I had a lot of fun with this challenge, obviously, and I used a little bit of many things to put this piece together. I looked at old X-Force comics, Wildstorm, Gen 13, and Ultraverse stuff to come up with this conglamoration. It was evident in the 90's that you had a lot of these characters, and Liefield was the lead in the design. After examining his ...ahem..."style"....he defintiely had a lot of influence on many designs, or should that be there were others who influenced his designs. Either way, he wasn't the only person who used the pouches, the big guns, the straps, the knives, the etc.... but it truly was all over the '90's. And I hoped to have kept that theme here.

The Outfit: There were many different directions that I could've went, but I settled for the "mercenary soldier of fortune" mask that has a certain eye mark on it. I outfitted Overkill with a headgear helmet, and those weird antennae things that Liefield uses, he has a pony tail of course, metal cyborg arms, the pouch bags, some spikes here and there, the big shoulder pads, and some skull knee pads. The color scheme went through various stages, but I decided on a rag tag mix of mostly red, purple, and black. Which surprisingly enough, there was a lot of those colors (especially in Wildstorm) being used in those days. I think Overkill has the right look to make it in the 90's.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
